Here we are... Mr. and Mrs. Bragg, June 21, 2003!
And here we are 7 years later...We arrived in STL on Sunday night, June 27, and got settled into our room before heading out for dinner. Russ made reservations for us at Mike Shannon's and it was delicious! I highly recommend it for a special occasion. The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all top-notch! http://www.shannonsteak.com/
The next morning, we got up and got ready for the day... and it was going to be a full one!
1st: Segway Tour
2nd: Lunch
3rd: The Arch
4th: The Cardinals Game
=The Segway Tour=
To begin the day... we met up with our friends, Johnny and Rachele. Johnny and Russ work together and we were going to be spending the day with them. The day began with a Segway Tour of STL. I must admit that I was very excited about this, but not sure that I was going to be able to do it safely. We had a BLAST!
We arrived at the hotel to join the Segway Tour and the fun began there... we had to watch a video, practice, sign releases, etc. and then we were off to see downtown STL! The weather was PERFECT and we had so much fun rolling through St. Louis! We estimated a segway coverage of about 15 miles. We were gone for three hours.
This was the city building with Ulysess S. Grant standing in front of it. It was a very pretty building with beautiful plantings and flowers.

This was a park where we were allowed "free Segway time" to go as fast as we wanted... I found myself going 11.7 mph at the highest... I was conservative on speed in comparison to Russ and Johnny, but I still had fun! :)

Here we are... the Evansville group 0f 4! Standing in front of the old court house with The Arch in the background.

From the city, we headed towards the river. We went onto the bridge to go out across the river to see the city from afar. The river was very high.
We were a long ways out on this bridge...

Cargill has an elevator in East St. Louis and as we entered our hotel room, Russ said, "Well, there's Cargill East STL..." You could see the elevator directly out of our window and we could also see it from the bridge.

See how high the water was? Makes me think of Johnny Cash's song... :)
How high's the water mama? 3 feet high and rising...

The Arch

We rolled past many beautiful parks in the city and this one was no exception... I had to take Pinocchio's picture.

There are the other members of our ride... we literally rolled through the city like little ducks in a row following their mama... it was a sight to see! And many people took our picture. Many waved. Most smiled. Our tour guide told us how much he enjoys his job and how many smiles it brings to others, both the tourists and the by-standers. He is right... we were smiling and many were smiling back at us! It was a FUN day! If you've never been on a Segway tour and have the opportunity to take a tour, I would highly recommend it. It cost us $65/person it was wellworth it! For St. Louis Segway tours, go to http://www.glidestlouistours.com/ Joe and Jeff are awesome guides... you will not be disappointed!

We left the tour and went to Pappy's for a BBQ lunch which was delicious! If you're ever in STL and want some good BBQ, Pappy's is the place to be! http://www.pappyssmokehouse.com/
=The Arch=
Following lunch, we returned to the hotel and walked across to The Arch.
We were given the door #2 ticket! Me, Russ, Johnny, and Rachele, along with some guy from California rode to the top to see what we could see...
And we saw...
Cargill, once again!
We had tickets to the game with awesome seats, thanks once again to Cargill. We enjoyed ourselves very much as the weather was just right and so was our company, Johnny and Rachele! It was a great game down to the last second, literally. The Cardinals played the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cardinals won in the last play of the game... a nail-biter to the end.

And to top off the win for the night, Russ and I were on the Kiss-Cam!!! It was hilarious! We were sitting there laughing at the others kissing for the camera and all of the sudden WE were on the camera! So we kissed and laughed and celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary in St. Louis!
