All in six weeks...

It is hard to believe that baby Emmitt was six weeks old yesterday.

Six short weeks ago, our family grew from three to four, our little Lawson became a big brother, and baby Emmitt was born a little brother.

Emmitt is doing great and bringing us lots and lots of joy! Lawson has adjusted and he simply loves Emmitt. They are going to be great buddies within the next year; it is exciting to see Lawson's interest in Emmitt and it is very evident that he loves him.

This is a long posting, however since we've been home (six weeks ago, tomorrow), blogging has been placed on the back-burner as it is not a priority on the daily list of things needing to be done. I have posted very few pictures since we've arrived home, so this posting includes pictures from the last six weeks. They are in somewhat of a chronological order, but within that order they are randomly posted.

Another family-of-four picture, now at home!

While Emmitt was in the nursery, we learned about a new product for babies called a "Halo". A halo is basically a sleep sack, however these halos have "wings" that wrap around and hold his arms, keeping him really tight and bundled. He LOVED it! And doesn't he look cute? Kind of burrito-style-ish. :) Whatever works and helps sleep! My mom got his at Babies R Us.

This was so neat!

The afternoon we arrived home from the hospital, we noticed a family of geese on the water. Russ and I love to watch ducks and geese care for their young as both birds are lifetime mates and care for their young together, just as we do.

This little family of geese was swimming across the water and we watched them grow and learn for the next few weeks before they eventually flew away together.

The NEAT part of the story is that yesterday, Wednesday, June 9, the day that Emmitt was 6 weeks old, the family of geese returned to the pond behind our house!!!

It had been six weeks and look how much they had grown!

I was so excited to see them back, and so was Lawson!

much has happened.

One night while we were cooking dinner, we moved Emmitt from the living room to his bedroom.

The baby bed is a safe place when mom and dad can't watch full-time!

Buddies... watching TV together. I love it.

This was really sweet. Lawson comes to our bedroom when he wakes up in the mornings where he typically finds me still snoozing, or at least attempting to. His body's alarm clock is set to 6:30 am, and it doesn't matter what time he goes to bed. He is up at 6:30. Anyway, one morning Emmitt began to cry so I wearily got up and went to make him a bottle. When I returned to our room, I found this... Lawson was patting Emmitt's head and Emmitt was quiet.

Emmitt doesn't seem bothered by bathing.

He doesn't like being undressed, but the bathing itself doesn't seem to bother him in the least. Russ has got to be the best child bather in the world.

Lawson doesn't look so confident in the counter-top bathing technique.

You've grown and changed so much Emmitt.

Your hair has gone from as dark as your mama's to a lighter brown.

Your clogged tear duct has cleared itself up.

You are drinking 4 oz of Gentlease Formula ever 2.5 hours

Although you are not sleeping all night, you are sleeping very well during the night.

You are wearing 0-3 months clothing very well, and many of them are not going to fit you much longer.

You are a big boy.

You are a cuddly boy.

You love to be rocked, esp during the day.

You like your paci - sometimes.

You are holding your head up very well.

Just yesterday, Wednesday, June 9, you began to "talk". Super sweet! : )

Your eyes are still blue and they have begun to follow us as we walk around the room.

You do not like your car seat.

You are still sleeping in the cradle in mom and dad's bedroom.

And you are well loved by so many.

We can't wait to see what the next weeks hold as you continue to grow.
