Russell Emmitt Bragg

The big day finally came...

Wednesday, April 28, 2010.

We arrived at St. Mary's Women's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana at 5:30 in the morning anticipating the arrival of our son.

As we left home and drove to the hospital, we commented on the nice crisp morning - a perfect combination of brisk April air and the beautiful light of a spring sunrise. Another beautiful day from God... we knew it was going to be perfect.

This was 5:45 a.m....

Mid-morning - still feeling good. Just hanging out waiting for his debut.

And he finally arrives at 1:55!

~Russell Emmitt Bragg~

7 pounds, 7 ounces, 20 inches long

The day was great, including labor and delivery and I was so happy to be holding him in my arms!

Lawson went to school for the day as his schedule and routine are vitally important. He arrived to meet his baby brother later in the afternoon and couldn't have been sweeter. He smiled so happily as he continually said, "Hi Emmitt". He would pat and love on him; it was simply heart-warming.

Our first family photo

And last, but certainly not least...

The wonderful ladies who helped us get him here!

Mrs. Linda, the OB nurse, was amazing!

And then Dr. Harpole... I love her!

And God loves us.

We are thankful for Emmitt, and Lawson, too.

We are thankful for our new family of four.

We are thankful for our families who have been here to celebrate this special time.

We are thankful for all of the medical staff who have tended to us over the past two days.

We are thankful for our friends who have sent loving messages, made phone calls, and asked for prayers on our behalf.

And lastly, we are thankful for the loving God who gave HIS son for each of us. Even for baby Emmitt.
