I picked Lawson up from school on Thursday to have Miss Bailey ask him to show mom his "surprise". He immediately sat down, happily pulled up his pant leg and said, "too!" Much to my "surprise" he had a little Easter chick tattoo on his leg! He was so proud that he called the janitor, Mike, over to see his leg. It was hilarious! She said that they all got to pick their tattoo, and then they were able to choose where they wanted to put it and he chose his leg. Much better than the 20 month old who chose his back at the waist line, or at least in my opinion. : ) So that was a pretty cute start to the Easter weekend.
Friday night, or Saturday morning I suppose, began the "down" part of our Easter weekend. Around 1:30 am, Lawson can stumbling into our room, which hasn't happened but maybe once as our big boy bed is proving more successful these days. Russ is continuing to deal with night-time awakenings so he quickly scooped him up to return him to bed only to discover he had gotten sick during the night. It was a pittiful mess. We threw him into the tub which brought on many sad tears, got him redressed and into Russ' lap when he got sick again... another bath, no clean sheets as I had JUST changed them and now both sets were dirty, and so once he was laughing again, we placed him on his "cot" AKA the babybed mattress in our floor. He was very excited about this until he was sick AGAIN... followed with bath, tears, and pajama set #4. Exhausting and pittiful to say the least. We were planning to go to Indy for the day to spend time with friends and had to cancel, leaving our Saturday almost as non-productive as the Friday. We did manage dinner out and a few errands, but other than that, it was quiet with a two-hour nap for Russ and me, and a three-hour nap for Lawson.
Thankfully, Sunday was "up"! We awoke Sunday morning to discover the Easter Bunny had visited and the rest of the day was full of sunshine, outside play, another "family nap", and happiness.
Lawson was very excited, slightly confused at first, about what the Easter Bunny brought him.
His Easter basket included a box of snacks, as he calls most things, a coloring book, two DVDs, (by the way, the Elmo's Potty Time which was recommended... is not recommendable... oh, my goodness!!!) anyway he also got a handful of farm animals for his up and coming BARN!!! It is awesome and daddy has shown a new talent of carpentry, thanks to the help of Granddad and Uncle Jim... pictures will be posted once it is complete - hopefully soon! : )
His first peek at his Easter basket which the bunny left at the front door...
We are certain that next Easter will be twice the fun!
