Julie & Luke {Engagement}

First of all, Happy Easter!  May we remember Him every day, but especially the miracle we celebrate this weekend... He is alive!

****

I'm sure you remember me mentioning my sister getting engaged back around Thanksgiving.  She and Luke have a wedding date set for September 28, 2013, and we are very excited! It will be here before we know it, and they have been busy bees planning and preparing for their special day.  Our boys will be a part of the ceremony, and they are also very excited.  A funny story... the first thing out of Lawson's mouth when we told him he was going to be wearing a tux, was... "can I please wear shoes that I can see myself in?" We looked at each other and began laughing.  It was hilarious, and we have no clue where he heard that.  So, we will be on a mission for shoes in which he can see himself. :)

Anyway, I had the honor of going along with her and my mom to Brinkley, Arkansas to search for her wedding dress.  Low's Bridal & Formal can be found nestled in a small town about 3 1/2 hours from Martin, and is also where we found my wedding dress ten years ago (!!!).  It is a lovely business, to say the least.  We had a great time, and found the most perfect and beautiful dress; mission accomplished!

Of course, you won't see any glimpses of her dress until pictures are taken on that big day, but trust me, she looks amazing, and will be a beautiful bride!!  So happy for them!

A few weeks ago we enjoyed celebrating their engagement with their friends in Jackson, Tennessee.  There was a great crowd, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.  It was a St. Patrick's Day theme, and everything was so cute... Enjoy the memories...

The "Martin" Girls :)

The Bride & Groom

I have no clue what this pose means, and I was afraid to ask due to all of the people present... it would be an embarrassment either way... #1 - I didn't know something I should've known, or #2 - it could be something I didn't want to know. ;)

There was a great variety of food, and it was delicious!!

And these cake pops were scrumptious.  I had never eaten a cake pop, but they were great!

September 28... we're excited about this special day!

Happy Easter, and thanks for reading!

Memories on Wednesday, but not wordless.

In no particular order...

Emmitt called me into the play room to show me what he had done... "you gotta see this", is his new expression.

He's a liner-upper, no doubt... Train table, floor, and farm...

Dancing at a WHS basketball game. Goodness, I miss it.

Emmitt is all about "tents" these days...

Next week is the big week of Spring Break, and we're going to give it another go!

All by himself...

Daddy went hunting, and brought home some duck feathers.  Kind of yuck to me; a boy thing, I suppose. :)

Lawson's favorite player for the Lady Chargers is Teddy Vincent, #22... did you know you can make a "22" with your two fingers on both hands?  Those two fingers on each hand will represent "22", and if you put those together, you will get a "W" for Westview or for WIN! :)  His creativity and thought process never ceases to amaze us.

More memories at Westview's basketball games.
{And I have lots more to come!}

We have many closets and cubbies/storage, whatever you want to call it, all through our house.  The boys love them.  Emmitt refers to most of them as barns, and he often checks on his baby goats or cows in these "barns".  One night, we found them excited that they could both touch the ceiling.

More tent shots...

The National Anthem was being sung at a WHS tournament in Dyersburg.

Something excited him...

This boy loves him some pizza just like his mama; turned around one night to see him eating on the couch. When I called his name, he had quite a guilty look on his face. :)

Bedtime story with dad...

Sunday afternoon nap.  It was so cold that I came home and put on pajama pants and a sweat shirt and fell sound asleep.  A little boy crawled up beside me and did the same.  Thanks, Russ, for capturing this!

And that's that.  A few more memories on the page.  Pages of our life story.

Thankful for the life that God has given us.  His story.

He loves it.

Basketball, that is.

This boy eats, sleeps, and breathes basketball.  If he's awake, he's dribbling. Our no-carpet-house is quite beneficial for his favorite sport, and I am extremely thankful that the continual bounce of the basketball is not annoying.  We tune it out, somehow or another.

We had an afternoon when it was a little warmer, and so we played outside for a while, and I took a few shots... picture shots, that is. :)  He took the real shots.

(My "picture teacher" said I must not have had my flash on in this one and a few others, as it is darker... trying to learn a few new things.)

No flash, once again...

We were sad to see Westview's basketball season come to an end this past week... they brought our family so much joy, and we made great memories over the past winter.  I have several from games to share, and will do that soon.

Until the next sport season comes along, dribble on, Big Brother!
